County employees are members of the State-wide Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) which provides generous retirement benefits. County employees also participate in Social Security.
Employees can enroll in 457(b) deferred compensation retirement plans with Nationwide and Corebridge Financial. This voluntary, tax-advantaged benefit allows you to save for retirement with flexible contribution options.
Medical, dental, hospital, and vision coverage is available to employees and their dependents. The County contributes up to $1,500 of the monthly premiums for the insurance plan options for all employees.
We provide employees with life insurance coverage 1x base annual earnings up to a maximum of $100,000 in support of helping safeguard your family’s financial future. Additional coverage is available at a cost for employees.
Most employees receive sixteen paid 8-hour holidays per year that varies by the unit; pro-rated for part-time employees.
Vacation is Accrued 80 hours per year during the first five years of service, 120 hours per year after five years, and additional accruals based on years of service beyond fifteen years. Pro-rated for part-time employees.
Sick pay accrues at a rate of 96 hours per year. Pro-rated for part-time employees.
